This week, NH Outlook looks at the chemistry of lawn care. As winter wears on, many turn their thoughts to spring and the prospects for a healthy garden and lawn. But an increasing number of homeowners are concerned about a toxic reliance on lawn herbicides and pesticides. They want to follow the example of other communities which have banned those substances or least studied the issue. Our guests include Paul Tukey who made the documentary A Chemical Reaction; NH Agriculture Commissioner Lorraine Merrill and Rep. Suzanne Smith, sponsor of a bill being heard this week that would establish a study committee on banning lawn care chemicals.
