When the rope is through the grommets it is time to rake the leaves onto the tarp. Now the leaves are windblown into a nice neat pile they can be raked onto the tarp with a regular leaf rake. If you are doing heavy work like twigs or leaves that are wet from a rain, you can use a landscape rake. Landscape rakes can cost as much as $60. They are made out of aluminum and designed for rocks and mulch but it will do great for heavy, wet leaves. Since it’s dry today I am going to use a regular plastic rake. Once you have all the leaves onto the tarp you can use the rope to fold up the tarp and help contain the leaves. That way, you can haul them off without them blowing all over the place.
